The movie CONTACT was already underway when I started at Sony Imageworks, so I had to hit the ground running since there were so many visuals in the script and book that needed exploration.
From the moment the giant rings begin to spin and Jody Foster flies through outer space, till she lands back on earth, an intense visual ride explodes on the screen. To illustrate and storyboard the effects, I used digital and traditional mediums offering many options for the director and supervisors to choose from.
